Netflix has overhauled its Moments feature to create a more immersive viewing experience for mobile users. With this update, viewers can now cut their favorite scenes into clips to save and share. Previously, you could only bookmark a specific point in time, but now you can set your own start and end points for clips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This feature is only available on the mobile app, where users can tap the \"Clip\" button while playing content to save up to two minutes of the desired segment. Saved clips are stored in the \"My Netflix\" tab and can be rewatched or shared via messaging apps or social media. With this feature, Netflix aims to empower fans to create self-curated content experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"At its core, this feature is about empowering members to celebrate and share stories in their own way,\" said Elma Nubemeyer, VP of Member Products at Netflix, calling it \"the beginning of a new experience intentionally designed for mobile devices.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This upgrade to the Clips feature coincides with the release of Part 2 of Season 2 of Netflix's hit series, which premiered last season with a unique dance sequence that went viral and became a global meme, making it one of Netflix's most iconic viral stories. To date, Wednesday has been viewed more than 250 million times, making it the platform's top-grossing movie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Clips feature is optimized for content with such strong fandoms and sharing cultures. In its announcement, Netflix noted how fans save and share scenes they want to watch over and over again, like the \"Soda Pop\" stage from K-Pop Demon Hunters, which has become one of the most saved clips through the Moments feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This isn't the only change Netflix is making. It recently revamped its home screen, introduced a TikTok-like vertical video feed, and is rolling out lower-cost ad-supported plans and password sharing restrictions. These changes are part of a strategy to make the brand more competitive after a temporary slowdown in growth in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
