Dutch audio brand Miniot has unveiled its new vertical turntable, the Wheel 3. The third model in the Wheel series, the Wheel 3 is attracting attention for its innovative technology and sophisticated design, surpassing the limitations of its predecessors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Wheel 3's most distinctive feature is its "optical stylus." Unlike conventional turntables that use magnets and coils to convert vibrations into electrical signals, the Wheel 3 uses light. As a diamond needle moves along vinyl grooves, an attached plate blocks the light from the optical sensor, generating a signal. This method captures both low and high frequencies with exquisite detail, resulting in what Minit describes as "a pure analog sound like nothing you've ever experienced before."<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another key feature is the self-developed "axial flux direct drive motor." Using 24 neodymium magnets and five optical sensors, it controls speed, compensating for record wobble and eccentricity and maintaining perfect pitch. Furthermore, the newly designed linear tonearm moves vertically and aligns precisely with the record grooves, minimizing distortion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The front is a unibody aluminum body with a luxurious sheen, while the back is crafted from composite materials. The Special Edition features a wood back, continuing the Minit's organic aesthetic. The top edge features a brightness-adjustable display and a touch slider for intuitive control of volume and tracks. USB-C power and stereo minijack audio output are provided, and each product is handcrafted using local European materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Wheel 3 offers excellent space utilization, as it can be mounted on a wall, laid flat on a table, or placed on a stand. However, audiophiles who want to swap cartridges or perform detailed settings may find this limiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The price is 4,799,000 won and it will be delivered approximately 10 weeks after ordering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
