Apple has announced the winners of this year\u2019s Apple Design Awards ahead of its 2025 WWDC, recognizing apps and games that have achieved exceptional design and user experience. The awards honor 12 winners, one app and one game in each of six categories, and were selected from 36 finalists developed around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joy and Fun Section<\/strong>In the awards, Chinese HappyPlan Tech\u2019s language learning app CapWords and Canadian LocalThunk\u2019s card game Balatro won. CapWords made learning fun with its image-based interactive learning method, while Balatro showed off addictive gameplay combining poker and deck building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Innovation sector<\/strong>The winners were Play, a prototyping app from Rabbit 3 Times in the US, and PBJ \u2014 The Musical, a rhythm game from Philipp Stollenmayer in Germany. Play is based on SwiftUI and enables real-time collaboration across iPhone and Mac, while PBJ has created a unique game world that combines theater and music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interaction sector<\/strong>The Chinese Taobao app, which provides a realistic shopping experience on Apple Vision Pro, and the mystery exploration game DREDGE from New Zealand's Black Salt Games were selected. They were praised for their intuitive UI and immersive interactivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inclusion sector<\/strong> The winners were Speechify\u2019s text-to-speech app from the US and Art of Fauna, a puzzle game from Klemens Strasser from Austria. Both were designed with accessibility and inclusion in mind, reflecting a diversity of languages and abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social Impact Sector<\/strong>The winners were Watch Duty, a real-time wildfire information app from Sherwood Forestry Service in the US, and Neva, an emotional adventure game from Developer Digital in the US. Content that addresses crisis response and environmental messages drew strong sympathy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Video and Graphics Division<\/strong>The awards went to Feather, a 3D drawing app developed by Sketchsoft in Korea, and Infinity Nikki, an open-world game by Infold Games in Singapore. Feather made it easy for anyone to experience 3D modeling, while Infinity Nikki was recognized for its graphic perfection in color and presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
