The Democratic Party has used a symbol of a 'D' in a thick circle from 2010 to 2025. The new profile pictures on social media are of a donkey, the animal that symbolizes the Democratic Party. The background color is blue, which symbolizes the Democratic Party, and the donkey's tail and face are expressed simply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As soon as the new logo was uploaded to social media X, the reaction was heated. Strong criticisms continued such as, \u201cThe stars have fallen to three, like the Republican Party\u2019s elephant,\u201d \u201cThe donkey is looking right instead of left,\u201d and \u201cIt looks like a donkey getting beaten up by the Republican Party and spitting out money like a pi\u00f1ata.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The donkey, the symbol of the Democratic Party in the United States, originated from the 1828 presidential campaign of Andrew Jackson. At the time, Jackson's opponents sarcastically called him a "jackass," which was another way of saying donkey. However, Jackson used this ridicule to his advantage by putting a donkey on his campaign posters, and eventually won the election.
