Designer Yu Ando of AndoAndoAndo has created a vinyl record player automatic watch inspired by the Panasonic Technics SL-1200 turntable. The watch is fully functional and uses a rotating mini tone arm on the dial, a logo, and a disc to indicate the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The time is indicated by the record label with the 'A' logo. The end of the alphabet indicates the hour. The minutes are indicated by the tone arm, which the designer said was not entirely straight. "It doesn't point exactly at the minute markers, so it's up to each individual to interpret," he explained. The direction of the tone arm indicates the approximate minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The disc of the record player automatic clock is located in the center and displays the seconds. The designer explains that the zero second starts when the letters on the disc return to their original position and become 'readable'. The disc is luminescent and glows blue in the dark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The watch reflects the design of the Panasonic Technics SL-1200 turntable and uses the Miyota 9039 premium automatic movement. Yu Ando says the watch is aimed at music and vinyl record lovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is scheduled to be shipped between late March and early April 2025. The strap is made of leather. There is also an all-gold edition limited to 30 pieces, and this model is made entirely of gold, including the case and dial. In addition to the basic colors, a model with a combination of black and gold will also be released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
