The Seoul Metropolitan Government has announced the integrated public transportation brand, 'GO SEOUL'. The city unveiled the new brand in the City Hall briefing room on the 24th, and announced that it will be applied to four modes of transportation that can be used with the Climate Companion Card, including buses, subways, public bicycles (Ddareungi), and Hangang buses. The Hangang buses will use a separate brand called 'GO RIVER' to reflect the characteristic of traveling along the river.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Seoul Metropolitan Government explained that this is the first time that a public transportation brand has been integrated, and that the brand will serve as an icon representing the city, like London\u2019s \u2018Roundel\u2019 or Paris\u2019s \u2018RATP.\u2019 Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon explained the background of the introduction, saying, \u201cAlthough the usage rate is high, with one in seven Seoul citizens using the Climate Companion Card, there has been no integrated brand encompassing it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 'Go Seoul' brand was designed by combining 'GO', which symbolizes Seoul's vibrant transportation and convenient movement of citizens, with the infinity symbol (\u221e) of the existing Climate Companion Card. The Seoul Metropolitan Government explained that this symbol contains the meaning of continuous connection and development of Seoul's transportation, and connecting the present and the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 'Go Seoul' brand will be operated by displaying the name and pictogram together. The symbol will be sequentially attached not only to buses and subways, but also to bus stops, subway stations, Hangang bus stops, and Ttareungi rental stations. A promotional budget of 1.2 billion won has been separately allocated for this purpose this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city plans to first apply the brand to new buses and Hangang buses this year, and then expand it to all transportation by 2026. The existing brands of Ttareungi and Hangang buses will be listed with \u201cGo Seoul\u201d to maintain consistency. The new brand, which will be implemented starting in April, is expected to allow citizens and tourists to use Seoul\u2019s public transportation more intuitively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
