Fritz Hansen held a retrospective of Poul Kj\u00e6rholm, a symbol of Danish modernism. Poul Kj\u00e6rholm is a designer who represents Danish modernism and led a change by introducing a steel furniture collection to the Danish furniture market centered on wood. He received design education at the Danish School of Applied Arts based on the ideology of Kaare Klint. He reinterpreted the new material and technology of iron and created beautiful furniture with his own principles and philosophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After competing with Arne Jacobsen at Fritz Hansen, he quit and created his own eponymous 'PK Series' with furniture distributor Evind Kold Christensen. It is ironic that Fritz Hansen is holding an exhibition by Poul Kjaerholm after such a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can see for yourself the elegantly curved wooden chair PK0, the PK25 that looks hard to believe is a graduation project, the glass table PK65 that reveals the structural beauty of steel, and the PK80 that offers a unique eye-level experience with its low height. You can even sit on some of the furniture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul Keholum's retrospective is on view at Youthquake in Seochon until July 7. Admission is 9,000 won.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
