On the 22nd, Apple released the official iOS 17.3 update with new features added. Security features that iPhone users must update have been added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Stolen Device Protection feature prevents everything stored in iCloud and important information like banking and email from being accessed if your iPhone is lost. Features that enhance security are automatically activated when iPhone is moved away from its usual location, such as home or work. Instead of a 'lock screen password' that is relatively easy to crack, authentication is done with Touch ID and Face ID, which are difficult to hack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When changing the Apple ID password or iPhone password required to use Apple products, authentication is required twice. When changing your password, biometric authentication is performed again using Face ID or Touch ID after a waiting period of about 1 hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To turn on the device theft protection feature, go to 'Settings' on your Apple product and select the 'Face ID & Passcode' menu to turn it on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you use an Apple product, it is a good idea to turn on \u2018Find My\u2019 as well. If you do not turn on this feature, you will not be able to locate the product or set it to lost mode if it is lost. You can use your Apple Watch to make your lost product make a sound when you're nearby, and you can use the 'Find Device' function on iCloud.com to check the location of the product. If you can't find your product, you can mark it as lost. When a product is set to 'Lost' status, we'll display contact information for the person who obtained it to return it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As privacy becomes more important, this update is reassuring. You can see that we are working hard to protect information from the moment the product is lost until the product is deleted. I think it would be a good idea to make the product permanently unusable remotely so that there would be no point in stealing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
