It is the oldest cinema in the UK and still uses analogue projectors and gas lighting. It also retains features such as the ornate balconies and outside ticket offices from the early days of operation. In 2016, the building was restored and reopened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/designcompass.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/HPPH-thumb.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Hyde Park Picture House \u00a9Rabbithole, 2023<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udc41\ufe0f Designer Eye<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The distinctive logo is inspired by the early 20th century Cineccanica 35mm project. The cue mark is a device that tells the projectionist in the middle of a movie that it is time to change reels, and is displayed one second before the change in the upper right corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Various themes are expressed using the bowl that holds the film as a framing symbol. The font and color change according to the movie genre.
