The legendary I \u2764 NY that Milton Glaser drew with crayon on the back of an envelope while riding a taxi. This iconic design has been transformed into WE \u2764 NYC. Reflecting the spirit of togetherness after the pandemic, 'I' has been replaced with 'We' and the iconic heart logo has been changed to resemble an emoji. 'NY (New York)' was changed to 'NYC (New York City)' to focus on a narrower area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Art director Graham Clifford, who oversaw the new logo, said it was an idea with a modern twist. I used the font on the subway signs. He said the subway is the vein and beating heart of the city. It was expressed that various types of people in the city can gather in one place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To represent the New York City we love, we're inviting New York artists to collect posters and distribute them throughout the city. Founders have created new emojis to represent New York: a bagel, a Yankees hat, a hot dog stand, and more, and they will soon become official emojis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this change, the relationship with people has been added to the expression 'we'. In Korean culture, it feels natural because the concept of us is familiar, but in Anglo-American culture, why is it more important than solidarity? I think you will think so. It is said that New Yorkers do not welcome this phrase because it has been a symbol of New York for a long time. He said it felt like it was depicting New York as seen by people from the outside.
