Keukenhof in the Netherlands has unveiled a new look. The Keukenhof Spring Garden, known as the world's largest spring garden, and the nearby Castel Keukenhof have undergone a joint rebranding. Keukenhof is a spring festival venue visited by approximately 1.4 million people annually and boasts a history dating back to 1949. The project was undertaken by Amsterdam-based design studio Tonic, which unveiled a new visual system in time for the opening of the 2026 season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key to this rebranding is that the garden and the castle were not viewed as separate entities. Although the two spaces have distinct characteristics, they needed to be connected within a single place experience. Therefore, Tonic did not stop at simply creating two new logos for each; instead, they first established a common structure. Based on a grid system inspired by the brickwork of a castle, the garden and castle logos were designed together. The garden logo is a graphically simplified form of a tulip. In contrast, the castle logo incorporates a shield silhouette reminiscent of traditional coats of arms. This approach ensures that while different symbols are used, they appear to originate from a single root. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The color strategy also directly reflects the character of the space. The gardens feature shades of pink and red reminiscent of tulips, while the castle utilizes green tones resembling the surrounding forests and trees. This visual system does not end with the logo; it extends to flyers, banners, outdoor signage, and social media using the same tone. Custom typography and computer-generated color gradients are also applied to bind the entire Keukenhof experience into a single brand sensibility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an official statement, Keukenhof states that this change is not an attempt to erase the past. The new logo aims to capture both heritage and the future by combining the outlines of a castle and a tulip within a single symbol. General Director Sandra Bechthold also stated that the design better reflects the character of the historic estate and the spring gardens that attract visitors from around the world. Keukenhof will be open from March 19 to May 10, 2026. This rebranding is noteworthy as an example of a long-standing tourist attraction redesigning its image for the next decade based on its heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
